Cleveland SC’s Head Coach, Joe Jovanovski, enters his second season with an eye toward growth and continued progress. While his debut campaign provided plenty of learning opportunities, it also laid the foundation for what’s shaping up to be an exciting 2025 season.
Jovanovski has been hard at work this offseason, building a roster to match the team’s ambitions for the upcoming season. By blending new talent with a strong core of returning players, he’s creating a balanced and competitive squad ready to take on the challenges ahead.
“I have been working on making additions to the staff to elevate our team. I think the players are going to enjoy working with the new coaches joining our staff. Also, we have been working hard to bring in top-level players that fit our team culture and style of play.”
With a mix of fresh faces and experienced returners, the squad is shaping up to be one that fans won’t want to miss. The coaching staff has worked hard to bring in players who they believe will make an impact and fit the team’s needs for the season.
“I think our fans are really going to enjoy watching our new guys on the team this summer. I am excited about this group as a whole and love what the player pool looks like. We wanted to bring in guys that can play at a high level and also that are good people that are coachable and want to be pushed to get to their next level.”
While the new signings will bring energy and talent, the foundation of the team remains its core group of returning players. Their experience and leadership will be crucial as the squad looks to build on last season’s momentum.
“Last year we had a young team, and I think now with a lot of these guys stepping into leadership roles and having a year or two of experience at the level under their belt they will be paramount to our success this year.”
Beyond individual player development, Cleveland SC continues to establish a strong identity on the field, one that reflects the club’s culture and commitment to success.
“I think the identity definitely grew, I think when you come to a Cleveland SC game, you see our identity on the field, and we play an attractive style of football. I plan on continuing to deliver the same messages, pushing and harping on our culture and players being committed and taking pride in wearing the Cleveland SC badge. We can have an extremely successful season if we can continue to build off of our foundation pieces.”
As excitement builds for the 2025 season, one thing remains constant—the support of Cleveland SC fans. From the atmosphere at home games to dedicated supporters traveling for away matches, their passion fuels the team’s drive.
“Our fans are so important to us. I love the environment at every home game, the drums, the smoke bombs, the flares, and the fans that hit the road to catch us on away trips. We have the best fans in the NPSL. Cleveland SC is a special place with special people, and I cannot wait for May to get here so we can hit the ground running!”
