Matchday 7: Cleveland SC Hosts Southern Indiana Guardians on Father’s Day
Cleveland Soccer Club returns home after two consecutive road matches to host the Southern Indiana Guardians at North Olmsted High School on Sunday, June 16th at 4 PM. Today is extra special as we celebrate Father’s Day. This marks only the second time Cleveland has hosted a home match on Father’s Day, the first being a thrilling 3-3 draw against FC Buffalo in our inaugural 2018 season at John Carroll University, where Declan McGivern scored a dramatic equalizer late into stoppage time.
After two challenging defeats on the road, returning to home turf presents a vital opportunity for Cleveland SC to bounce back and secure three crucial points. Playing in front of our passionate home fans at North Olmsted High School will give the club the boost it needs. Currently sitting 4th in the Great Lakes Conference table, Cleveland SC faces a 7th-placed Southern Indiana team, making this an important match to continue our push towards the playoffs.
Today’s clash marks the second-ever matchup between the two clubs, with the previous meeting held in Georgetown, Indiana, on June 1st. In that encounter, Cleveland SC showcased their dominance with a commanding 7-2 victory. Stanislav Koval was the standout performer, scoring an impressive four goals, while Griffin Meyer added two more to secure the win. Additionally, Ryan Sommerfeld played a pivotal role, providing five assists to help steer the team to victory.
Ticket Information
Tickets for the third home match of the season are priced at $15 for adults, $5 for children (18 & under), and $10 for seniors (65 & older). Kids wearing their Youth Club Jerseys receive FREE entry into the stadium.

Meet Our Opponent: Southern Indiana Guardians
This is Southern Indiana’s debut season in the NPSL, led by Owner and Coach Jeremiah LeRoy. The Guardians have yet to secure their first win, starting the season with four losses. Their most recent match was a 5-0 defeat against Steel City FC at home. The Guardians are led by Dakota Hart, who has two goals this season, including one against Cleveland on June 1st. Southern Indiana also competes in the UPSL Gateway Division, holding a 5-0-5 record and recently qualifying for a playoff spot in their conference.
Club Notes
Cleveland SC players and coaches are eager to turn things around at home after a challenging road trip. In the previous two matches, the boys in orange and black were shut out and will be looking to regain their scoring touch. The plan is simple: to rebuild the energy and positivity captured from the first three games of the season as we kick off the second half of the season in today's match.
