Saturday Nights at George Finnie Stadium
Cleveland SC returns to George Finnie Stadium for the 6th consecutive season, kicking off with two thrilling home matches against Akron City FC and Niagara 1812.
Home Opener
Cleveland Soccer Club's home opener will be against Northeast Ohio rival Akron City FC on Saturday, May 18th, at 7:00 pm. Since Akron’s inaugural season in 2022, Cleveland SC has held the upper hand with 3 wins and 2 draws. Who can forget last year’s nail-biting 4-3 victory at George Finnie Stadium, where both clubs exchanged leads? Relive the excitement here. Tickets for the home opener can be found HERE.
Match # 2 at George Finnie
A week later, Cleveland SC will host NPSL’s new club Niagara 1812 on Saturday, May 25th, at 7 pm at George Finnie Stadium. This will mark the first-ever meeting between the two clubs, with Niagara 1812 hailing from Buffalo, NY, led by former Canadian Men’s National Team player Lucio Ianiero.
A Return to North Olmsted Drive Morris Stadium
Cleveland SC will host its remaining three home matches at North Olmsted High School (Drive Morris Stadium). Last year, Cleveland Soccer Club made history with its first match at North Olmsted, securing a 1-0 victory over Lionsbridge FC in the first round of the US Open Cup.
The first home match at Drive Morris Stadium is against long-time rival Erie Commodores FC on Wednesday, June 5th at 7 pm. Despite the series being evenly split last season, Cleveland proudly holds a record of 8-1-3 against the Commodores.
On Father’s Day, Sunday, June 16th, at 4 pm, Cleveland will host NPSL’s new club Southern Indiana Guardians at Drive Morris Stadium. The Guardians, based out of the Greater Louisville area, are led by Head Coach Jeremiah LeRoy.
Cleveland will conclude its home schedule on Friday, June 28th, at 7 pm against the Michigan Rangers FC at North Olmsted High School Stadium. Following a pair of 2-1 regular season losses last year, Cleveland bounced back in the NPSL playoffs with a crucial 1-0 victory in Grand Rapids, propelling them to the second round.
At the end of the regular season, the top clubs from the Great Lakes Conference will qualify for the playoffs.
